What You Enjoy About Local News:
At 6 News, we can have a big impact on our viewers' lives on a daily basis. From important information about an accident or hazardous spill, to the simple things like which roads to avoid due to weather, we can play a part in simplifying the every day grind and making their lives safer. The best part is being able to go around the Valley talking to the people who are affected by what's happening around them—getting the facts and emotions directly from them. That ensures more accurate and empathetic journalism.
Sometimes it takes us out of our viewing area. One of my most memorable stories was going to Mississippi's Gulf Coast to show how several Knoxville police officers donated their time helping people devastated by Hurricane Katrina.
