Who must register by law:

"Tennessee Code Annotated section 40-39-206 makes Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry information about sex offenders who committed certain enumerated offenses public record, and requires that the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation post the information on the TBI's internet home page. Information concerning these offenders can be found on this website or by calling 1-888-837-4170 from 8:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. CST Monday through Friday, excluding holidays."

Internet requirements for sex offenders:

"For any offender convicted in this state of a sexual offense or violent sexual offense, as defined by this part, that requires such offender to register puruant to this part, the information concerning the registered offender set out in subdivisions (1)-(10) of this subsection shall be considered public information. If an offender from another state establishes a residence in this state and is required in this state pursuant to 40-39-203, the information concerning such registered offender set out in subdivisions (1)-(10) of this subsection shall be considered pubic information regardless of the date of conviction of such offender in the other state."
