HUNTSVILLE (WATE) -- Officials say flash flooding is beginning to recede after authorities evacuated several Scott County communities Sunday night.

Wayne Shoemaker with Scott County EMA says Monday morning the water is going down, but the flooding hasn't fully subsided yet.

Officials told 6 News crews began evacuating residents in the Oneida area around 11:00 p.m. Sunday and continued for several hours.

Authorities also reported flooding in other areas including Winfield, Elgin, Low Gap, and Wolf Creek.

Witnesses told 6 News crews brought in several boats to rescue residents. Several squad cars also reportedly got stuck in the flood waters.
