
RUTLEDGE (WATE) -- The National Weather Service confirms that a tornado touched down on Friday, May 8 in Grainger County.
Officials say the tornado was an EF-1 with peak winds of 90 miles per hour.
The tornado touched down at 7:36 p.m. Friday 5.2 miles northeast of Thorn Hill and traveled to three miles west of Treadway in Hancock County.
Officials say the tornado ended at 7:42 p.m.
