ANDERSONVILLE (WATE) -- Fire crews were on the scene well into the morning working to determine the cause of a fire that left an Andersonville home in ruins.

Neighbors reported hearing what sounded like an explosion coming from the home on Mountain Road just after 5:30 Sunday morning.

The Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the home when flames started to show.

The home was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived on scene but they were able to get the it under control quickly. The home was a total loss.

The residents were on vacation and there was no one in the home.

There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
