Man arrested for robbing W. Knoxville bank in grocery store

KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- A man suspected of robbing a SunTrust bank in West Knoxville Tuesday morning was arrested that night.

Matthew Douglas Gregory, 32, of Knoxville, is facing state charges for bank robbery.

Gregory is suspected of going in the SunTrust bank in the Kroger grocery store at 9305 Kingston Pike at 9:49 a.m. Tuesday and threatening to have a weapon.

After getting an undetermined amount of money, the robber walked out of the bank.

Witnesses said he got in a 1990s, green, four-door, Honda Accord with Tennessee license plates.
