KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- A shooting in West Knoxville Thursday night left one man wounded.

Around 10:30 p.m. officers were called to Greentree Apartments at 4831 E. Summit Circle.

Officers found Maurice Houston, 29, with a gunshot wound to his shoulder.

Police believe Houston was in his home when three unidentified black men, wearing all black, threw a rock into a sliding glass door.

Houston apparently confronted the men, who fired multiple shots at him, hitting him once.

The suspects were last seen leaving the scene in a grayish green 2002 Ford Crown Victoria.

Police determined the shots were fired through the sliding glass door from outside and inside the apartment.

Houston refused to help the officers conducting the investigation. He was taken to UT Medical Center for treatment.
