Hunt for man who robbed downtown Knoxville bank

KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- Officers are asking for the public's help to identify the man who robbed a bank in downtown Knoxville Friday morning.

Around 11:04 a.m., a man entered the Clayton Bank & Trust at 620 Market Street and presented a note. He threatened to have a gun and demanded money.

After getting an undetermined amount of money, he left on foot headed toward Market Square. 

Witnesses said the robber was white with dark hair and appeared to be in his late 20s to early 30s. He was between 5'6" and 5'8" and weighed around 160-180 pounds.

The suspect wore a white T-shirt with writing on it, blue jeans, wire-rim glasses and carried a black bag with a shoulder strap.
