MARYVILLE (WATE) -- An armed robbery suspect who led officers on a two county chase October 23 has been arrested in Cordova, Alabama, according to the Blount County Sheriff's Office.

Phillip Hammock, 38, of Sevierville, was arrested without incident around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Hammock has warrants in Jefferson County, Alabama, for theft of a vehicle and violation of probation.

Hammock also faces charges in Tennessee, from both the Pigeon Forge and Townsend Police Departments, for armed robbery, evading arrest and possession of a stolen vehicle, among other charges.

Hammock is accused of robbing Custom Log Rails in Wears Valley earlier that day.

Then the car Hammock was in was spotted in Blount County.

Blount County officers chased Hammock into Townsend, where he drove onto a dead end road called Mountain Avenue.

Hammock crashed into a cottage and fled on foot.

Officers said they saw Hammock had a gun and fired at him, but he apparently wasn't hit. Hammock didn't fire back at them.

He had been seen running in the woods behind Townsend Elementary School, which caused a lockdown.

The Pigeon Forge Police Department has extradition papers on file for Hammock, but it's not known when he'll be returned to Tennessee.
