Voters choose 5 for Knoxville City Council

KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- Knoxville voters made their choices Tuesday in the election for five city council seats.

Council seats in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th Districts were on the ballot.

Here's a list of the results:

1st District:

  • Robert Marlino--45.28%
  • Nick Pavlis--54.72%

2nd District:

  • Duane Grieve--56.24%
  • Ken Knight--43.76%

3rd District:

  • Gerry Holman--47.29%
  • Brenda Palmer--52.71%

4th District:

  • Ray Abbas--49.50%
  • Nick Della Volpe--50.50%

6th District:

  • Daniel T. Brown--61.33%
  • Charles Anthony Frazier--38.67%

City council has six members elected from districts and three elected "at-large" members who represent the entire city.

There was low turnout for early voting in this election. Just over 2,300 votes were cast. A total of 7,986 were cast in the entire election. Knoxville has more than 104,000 registered voters.
