KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- Local churches and businesses are joining together for a pancake breakfast they hope will bring troops home for the holidays.

Aubrey's restaurant along with two local churches, Grace Baptist and Faith Promise, are teaming up in a fundraising effort aimed at covering the travel expenses of bringing soldiers home for Christmas.

They will be hosting a pancake breakfast on December 5th at the Aubrey's on Middlebrook Pike. The fundraiser will run from 8 until 10 that Saturday morning.

Soldiers with the Knoxville National Guard Unit are preparing to be deployed in early December. The local 278th Armored Calvary Regiment will be heading to Iraq.

Tickets for the breakfast are available now and are sold on a first come, first served basis. Adult tickets are $10, while children 12 and under cost $5 each.

Tickets can be purchased at Faith Promise Church at 10740 Faith Promise Lane. The phone number is (865) 251-2590.
