Knoxville (WATE) - When John Daly stepped on the practice green at Fox Den Country Club Monday afternoon, he was hard to miss.
The former PGA and British Open champ was sporting a pair of vibrant slacks made by the Loudmouth Golf.
Daly is hoping his game matches his attire.
"Competitive rounds are always good," said Daly, who has made the cut in 12 of 17 PGA Tour events this season. "It's always good to be in Knoxville. It's not Hog Country, but it's SEC Country, which is good enough for me."
Daly played the Knoxville Open as a member of the Nationwide Tour in 1990.
He is also a loyal Arkansas Razorback fan.
Daly won the PGA Championship in 1991, the year after he played the Knoxville Open. He won the British Open in 1995. Daly has five PGA Tour wins, the last coming in 2004 at the Buick Invitational.
Daly is considered on of the longest drivers on the PGA Tour and looks forward to playing at Fox Den. "These guys are just as good as the guys on tour," he said. "This is no different than a tour event. The money is a little different, but other than that, the competitiveness is there and the players are just as good."
