Gore Criticizes Bush, Energy Companies over Global Warming

October 7, 2003

MURFREESBORO (AP) -- Former Vice President Al Gore lashed out at the Bush administration and energy companies Tuesday night.

Gore said in remarks at Middle Tennessee State University that Bush and the companies are trying to cover up an impending global warming crisis.

The former vice president said the Bush White House "censored" an EPA report on global warming.

He accused the administration of relying on a study by scientists who got part of their funding from the oil industry.

The United States, Gore said, should be providing leadership on global warming but is instead being an obstruction.
