NASHVILLE (AP) -- A Nashville judge has ruled there's sufficient evidence for a grand jury to hear drunken driving and weapons charges against Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair.

McNair left with his lawyer after the preliminary hearing and didn't talk to reporters.

McNair's attorney tried to convince Judge Leon Ruben that officer Shawn Taylor had no probable cause to stop McNair just after midnight on May 22nd.

Taylor said he saw McNair's sport utility vehicle weaving downtown and that the quarterback acknowledged he'd been drinking.

Taylor said at the hearing there was no doubt in his mind that McNair was impaired.
