KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- The Knoxville Open draws the best players in the Nationwide Tour. They're competing for a top prize of $85,500.

But Jimmy Walker is looking for more than just the prize money. A victory for him would mean an immediate promotion to the PGA tour.

Walker has already won two tournaments this season, making him one of the tour’s hottest players. He's made the top 25 in ten events.

He calls San Antonio home, but says Knoxville would be a great place to get that third win.

"Last year it was funny. This was my first event I got to play in. I was conditional status. I didn't make the cut here. I played two rounds and I came in pretty late into the tournament," he says.

Walker says he likes the course, too. "The course is in good shape. There's some pretty deep rough out there. I think it should be a good week."

His two wins have helped make Walker the Nationwide Tour's leading money winner. He's already won $221,346.
