NASHVILLE (AP) -- Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair was in court Wednesday in Nashville listening to testimony from the officer who arrested him on drunken driving and weapons charges.

The hearing dealt with motions to suppress evidence, including blood alcohol test results that McNair's attorney says were collected improperly.

A judge has given both sides time to work out a possible settlement in the case since McNair's arrest in May 2003 on charges of driving under the influence and possession of a handgun while intoxicated.

McNair's case was sent to a grand jury in October 2003 and he was indicted in February. [ sent to grand jury ]

There was no ruling on Wednesday's motions. Another hearing has not been scheduled.
