Matteson, Felton take lead going into final round of Knoxville Open

FARRAGUT (WATE) -- Troy Matteson and Kim Felton moved to the top of the leaderboard Saturday after three rounds of the Knoxville Open.

Matteson shot a six-under 66 and Felton carded a 67 to move to eight-under-par for the tournament.

David Peoples sits alone in third place after shooting a five-under 67 Saturday.

Bubba Dickerson, Scott Gardiner,  Wes Short, and second-round leader Shane Bertsch are tied for fourth.

Matteson, with a win at the Virginia Beach Open already under his belt this year, made a charge for the top spot right from the beginning Saturday when his second shot on the par-five first hole stopped just short of the cup. A three-foot eagle putt put him at minus- four.

The Georgia Tech grad then made it through the rest of the round without a bogey, hitting birdies on the 9th, 10th, 15th and 18th holes.

Felton, who is looking for his first Nationwide Tour win, started in good shape, but waited until the back nine to get hot. After knocking in a birdie on the first and eighth holes, the Australian birdied the 10th, 12th 13th and 15th before settling for a bogey on the 17th hole.
