June 29, 2005

KNOX COUNTY (WATE) -- Knox County sheriff's officers are looking for the victim of a crime after finding a man covered in blood that's not his.

He was in a Farragut neighborhood Wednesday morning.

Neighbors awoke to crusiers and a search helicopter just before 6:00 a.m. on Virtue Road in west Knox County.

Officers say the blood soaked man admitted to taking crack cocaine but wouldn't explain why he and his vehicle were smeared with blood.

A K-9 officer wasn't able to pick up the victim's scent.

The sheriff's office hasn't released the name of the man, who's in custody.
