November 29, 2005

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities say a man evacuated from Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina struck is charged with robbing a Madisonville bank.

Detective Captain Darron Bivens identified the suspect as Francis Holland, saying he was a hurricane evacuee who had been staying at a Sweetwater motel for about 80 days.

Authorities say a man entered the BB& T Bank Monday and handed a teller a note demanding money. Police didn't reveal how much cash he left with, but said a dye pack exploded in the money bag a short time after the bank was robbed.

A Monroe County deputy arrested Holland, using a description of the getaway vehicle.
