KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- The world's largest Rubik's cube, one of the most memorable relics of the 1982 World's Fair, isn't missing in Knoxville after all. It's at a private business undergoing restoration.

The cube, a gift from the government of Hungary, was on display for a while. Then it was put in a storage yard under I-40.

The 25th anniversary of the fair is coming up May 1.

"We're going to try and have it finished by the first of May so they'll have it in time for their celebration," says former Knox County Executive Dwight Kessel.

He also says volunteers are working to restore the cube.

Anonymous donors are paying for much of the work.
