BLAINE (WATE) -- U.S. Congressman Zach Wamp continues talking about becoming the next governor of Tennessee.
On Monday, Wamp told 6 News he is strongly considering running for governor in 2010. This follows reports last week by The Chattanooga Times-Free Press about Wamp's future plans.
Wamp, who is in his 7th term in Congress, says he is getting a lot of encouragement from others.
"A lot of people are talking to me about it. I just want to let people know that I'm very, very interested in running for governor in 2010 but we got 2008 first," Wamp said.
Wamp is up for re-election in 2008. He says he will announce a formal decision after his 2008 race.
