Police investigations lead to indictments in 2 cold cases

NASHVILLE (AP) -- Investigations by the Metro Nashville Police Department's Cold Case Unit have resulted in two indictments in unrelated murder charges.

Danny Eugene Rogers, an inmate in the Tennessee Department of Correction, was indicted for second-degree murder for the 2000 shooting death of Dedrick Havis.

Another inmate, Brian Thomas Britton, was indicted on a first-degree murder charge for the 2004 shooting death of Christopher Smith.

Since March 2005, the Cold Case Unit has cleared a total of 21 old homicide cases.
