PIONEER (WATE) -- The father of a pregnant woman who was shot and killed Monday in Morgan County is grieving the loss of his daughter and the grandchild he'll never get to hold.

Jessica Hatmaker's father, Edward Hatmaker, was so emotional Tuesday he asked 6 News not to show his face.

"Every time I would leave to go to work on Sunday, she would tell me, 'Daddy, I love you. I love you, Daddy.'"

As Hatmaker looked into his front yard, he said, "Our grandchildren mean everything in the world to us and we never got to know the little one my daughter, Jessie, was carrying. Her name was going to be Olivia."

For the past 24 hours, all Hatmaker can think about was the last time he got to see Jessica.

"I held her yesterday when I seen her down on the slab and I hope every mother and father out there just stops and thinks what it would be like."

When it comes to the other people in the car, Jessica's boyfriend and the baby's father, Hatmaker will only say, "I don't think you really want to know my true feelings towards him."

But he does have some words for Robert Stoll, the man police say fired the shot that killed his daughter.

"I believe you could of shot the tire of that car instead of shooting into it like an idiot."

But instead of focusing on Stoll, Hatmaker focuses on his daughter. "She was 25-years-old but I always told her, you are still going to be Daddy's baby girl. No matter how big you get, you're my baby girl."

Edward Hatmaker says he raised his daughter well but she fell into the wrong crowd. He also says Jessica was a wonderful mother.

Investigators are still working to determine if charges will be filed against the other people in the car with Jessica.
