Knoxville police release video of Britton Colquitt DUI arrest

KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- The Knoxville Police Department has released video showing the February traffic stop that ended in the arrest of UT football player Britton Colquitt.

The footage, shot from a police cruiser's dashboard camera, first shows a damaged car parked along the side of Jackson Avenue in Knoxville's Old City neighborhood.

The owner of the car then describes how an SUV collided with his vehicle and continued driving.

Officers later stop the SUV in question along Gill Avenue. A field sobriety test is administered to the driver, Britton Colquitt, which he subsequently fails.

Colquitt is then arrested and charged with DUI.

The UT senior has since pleaded guilty and served 24 hours in jail.  He was ordered to serve 24 hours of community service and pay a $350 fine. Colquitt's drivers license was also suspended.

Coach Phil Fulmer is keeping Colquitt on the bench for the first five games of the coming season and has revoked his athletic scholarship.
