KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- At least one jury in the trials for the kidnapping, rapes and murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom won't come from Knox County, a judge has ruled.

In the trial of Letalvis Cobbins, the jurors will be brought to Knox County from other counties in Tennessee to hear the case. They will be sequestered.

Cobbins is one of four suspects charged with killing the couple, whose bodies were found in January 2007.

The other three suspects are Lemaricus Davidson, George Thomas and Vanessa Coleman.

Judge Richard Baumgartner said last week that in a preliminary questionnaire of 301 people eligible to be Knox County jurors, only 17 said they'd never heard of the case.

The amount of prior knowledge about the case is unprecedented, Judge Baumgartner said, admitting it will be difficult to try.

Cobbins' defense attorneys, Bruce Poston and Kim Parton, say they're seeking a mental evaluation for him.
