Tenn. DA asks for probe into missing police files

CALHOUN (AP) -- A district attorney has requested an investigation into missing documents from the Calhoun police chief's office.

The Daily Post-Athenian reports District Attorney Steven Bebb says he is "angry" about the actions of three new city commissioners in the city 50 miles northeast of Chattanooga.

Bebb says he requested an investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Police Chief Julie Tanksley says the commissioners, Billy Nichols, Clifton Coleman and Carlos Liner, abruptly changed the locks on her office in city hall and took a case file.

Liner says they are not responsible for the missing records, but doesn't deny changing the locks after two city officials resigned recently.
