Tennessee Children's Dance Ensemble to open 37th season

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) - The Tennessee Children's Dance Ensemble has recently returned from a successful tour of Hungary and is now opening their 37th season on Friday, March 2, at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium with a colorful slate of dances.

Eight choreoraphers will join director Irena Linn and associate director Amy Renee Wilson.

Included will be "What About Us?", Wilson's environmental classic, and her stunning"Focus/Fusion", a piece based on Kung Fú techniques. "A New Day," a piece by Jodie Brown that has been dedicated to the victims of the Sandy Hook school shooting in Newtown, Conn., will also be featured.  

TCDE will present Knoxville's own singer-songwriter Sydney Stinnett and Knoxville Youth Chamber Orchestra violinist Ella Baldwin.
