Mission to Africa

Anchor Gene Patterson and photographer Brian Engelstad traveled in late January and early February 2011 to the countries of Kenya and Rwanda in Africa. They traveled with UT Athletics Director Mike Hamilton and the group Blood:Water Mission.

Last year, Hamilton organized a fundraiser in Knoxville to help American families adopt African children. Through that association, Hamilton became involved with Blood:Water Mission, which works with local African groups to bring clean water and HIV/AIDS education and services to Africans.
