Rare albino raccoon caught in South Knoxville

KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- A rare albino raccoon was caught in South Knoxville Friday.

Randy Wolfe of "Varmint Busters" was catching groundhogs when he found the animal in one of his traps. Wolfe says this is only the third he's seen in 20 years on the job.

It's rare for an albino raccoon to survive to adulthood. They're easy targets for predators because they lack the camouflage coloration.

The raccoon was released back into the wild.
