Clarksville police detective indicted

NASHVILLE (AP) -- Federal prosecutors say a Clarksville police detective has been indicted on a charge of possessing a stolen motor vehicle.

In a press release Thursday, the U.S. attorney's office in Nashville said Martin Edward Hall Jr. knowingly possessed and stored a stolen motor vehicle that had crossed a state line.

Hall did not answer an after-hours phone call at the police department Thursday night for comment.

He has been involved in racial discrimination complaints against the city of Clarksville and the department.

A federal jury ruled in his favor in 2006 and awarded him $150,000 in damages.
