One dead after motorcycle crash in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- One person has died after a motorcycle accident Friday night.

The wreck happened in the 2900 block of Alcoa Highway just after 6 p.m.

The driver of the motorcycle was in the northbound lane when he crossed both lanes into the median. Officials on the scene say the bike ran over a hole and hit the curb causing it to crash.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident. The name of the victim has not been released.
