NEWPORT (WATE) -- It has been 196 days since Megan Maxwell, 19, of Newport, went missing.
Maxwell was last heard from in the early morning hours of April 26. Her burned care was found several hours later.
Her family does not want the community to forget her, and held a candlelight vigil in her honor Saturday night.
Music filled the Western Plaza parking lot in Cocke County, as friends and family remembered Megan Maxwell.
A circle of candles were lit, so the community will not forget.
"People just act like nothing happened," said Stephanie Maxwell, Megan's younger sister, "She's still missing."
Stephanie still calls her sister's cell phone everyday.
"Hey this is Megan, sorry I missed your call, leave a message and I'll call you back," is what Megan says on her voicemail.
Megan's family just renewed her cell phone contract, hoping one day Megan will call back.
"Never, never, I will never give up," said Lisa Maxwell, Megan's mother.
She says she will continue to keep Megan's face in the public's eye.
Her family wants Megan to know, they want her to come home.
"We love you, said Lisa Maxwell, "We are not going to stop looking for you."
"We are going to find her eventually," added Stephanie Maxwell.
Megan's family say they will continue to have vigils, until she is found.
The family is planning on having a float in the Newport Thanksgiving Parade called Megan's Christmas.
There is a $15,000 reward for any information leading to the whereabouts of Megan Maxwell.
