KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- The day after two freshman Vols were kicked off the team following attempted armed robbery charges, there's word another freshman player was charged with shoplifting.
Defensive back Nyshier Oliver was arrested on Saturday, November 7 around 1:45 p.m. and charged with shoplifting at Dillard's department store in West Town Mall.
The report from the Knox County Sheriff's Office says Oliver hid a brown Polo shirt worth about $110 in his shopping bag.
He was arrested by a sheriff's deputy who was working a second job as a security officer at the mall.
The Vols went on to pummel Memphis 56-28 that night in the homecoming game.
The UT Athletic Department said head coach Lane Kiffin will speak about Oliver after practice Wednesday evening.
Oliver is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, November 23.
He's a 5'10", 180 pound defensive back from Jersey City, New Jersey. He was rated the no. 39 athlete in the 2009 class and the no. 12 overall prospect in New Jersey by Rivals.com.
