Hamblen County deputy fired after alleged altercation

MORRISTOWN (WATE) -- A Hamblen County jailer was fired Friday after an alleged incident at his Sevier County home.

The Hamblen County chief deputy said Marc Lipton had only been on the job a few weeks.

A Sevier County warrant said Lipton had a run in with a man riding an ATV on his property. The incident resulted in aggravated assault charges.

The chief deputy said Lipton was fired because he got into an "unsatisfactory position for an off-duty deputy."
