ANDERSONVILLE (WATE) -- The body found by U.S. Marshals in Andersonville last week has been identified as the convict they planned to arrest.

The remains of Brad Smith, 56, were found at his home at 355 Lone Mountain Road on November 20.

Marshals were attempting to arrest Smith for violating his federal parole.

Smith's conviction in July 2006 was for possession of a bomb. Booby traps had also been discovered on his property.

Smith was released from federal prison in June but never reported to his parole officer, according to the Marshals Service.

His body was identified by the Knox County Medical Examiner's Office.
