BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (WATE) -- Kentucky State Police said a nine-year-old Knox County girl was accidentally shot and killed Tuesday when her 12-year-old brother was cleaning a shotgun.
The girl's name hasn't been released.
It happened in the Cannon community at 1:49 p.m. Tuesday.
Troopers said the shotgun accidentally discharged as the boy cleaned it
It hit his sister while she was watching television.
The girl was taken to Knox General Hospital and pronounced dead.
Troopers said the investigation continues.
