KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- The live-in girlfriend of Roe Tolliver, 77, found dead in South Knox County on Saturday, has been charged with his murder.

Vickie Perry, 50,  has been charged with second degree murder in the death of Tolliver.

An autopsy conducted on Monday revealed that Tolliver died from multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma, according to sheriff's spokeswoman Martha Dooley.

Detectives found Perry in Straw Plains and arrested her on theft charges after they found articles missing from Tolliver's house in her possession.

Perry told detectives she and Tolliver had argued on January 24.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office says Tolliver's nephew found his body in his home at 1414 Deaderick Road.

Tolliver's nephew lives near his uncle and told investigators he wanted to check on him because he hadn't seen him in several days.
