KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- A man has been charged with the fatal shooting of an East Knoxville woman in March 2008.
Frank Gary Cooper, 20, is charged with one count of aggravated burglary and one count of felony murder for the death of Nola Atkins, 72. Her son found her dead in her home.
Earlier this week, a police investigator presented evidence in this case to a Knox County grand jury, leading to his indictment.
Cooper was being held in the Knox County Detention Facility on unrelated charges when he was indicted.
His bond for the burglary and murder charges is $1,000,000.
Cooper will be arraigned on the charges in Atkins' death on February 18.
He also has a hearing on an unrelated vehicle burglary charge on March 11.
