3 killed in North Knox County car crash

KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- Three people are dead after a car collision Saturday night in North Knox County.

The wreck involved three cars and happened just after 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Maynardville Pike and Quarry Road, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Frankie S. Langley, 34, of Knoxville, Karen R. Miles, 39, of Luttrell, and a third person who is not being identified yet all died in the crash.

According to THP officers, Langley was driving one of the vehicles when he crossed over the double yellow lines traveling at a high rate of speed. His car hit head-on a vehicle driven by Miles.

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.
