Crews extinguish fire at oil disposal facility in West Knoxville

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Firefighters extinguished a fire at an oil disposal facility in West Knoxville Thursday morning.

The fire started at 10:10 a.m. outside Enterprise Oil at 5207 N. Middlebrook Pike near Henson Road.

The family owned and operated business handles disposal and recycling of used oil products.

Approximately 3,000 gallons of recycled motor oil caught fire during the process of cleaning it.

No one was injured. Crews contained the fire to the tank, which has a 16,000 gallon no pressure capacity.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Both westbound lanes of Middlebrook Pike are closed from Third Creek Road to near Henson Road.
