CROSSVILLE (WATE) - A Cumberland County sheriff's deputy is under investigation by local and state offices, according to authorities.
Sheriff Butch Burgess said he put Deputy Richard Tinch on administrative leave pending the results of an investigation by the DA's office.
The sheriff won't say what Tinch is being investigated for, but a spokesman with the state Department of Children's Services confirms that his office is also investigating the deputy.
