WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Federal Election Commission has fined Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist's campaign committee $1,200 for filing one of his quarterly reports past deadline.
Frist campaign treasurer Linus Catignani confirmed that the July quarterly report was inadvertently mailed one day late and that the fine was paid in October when the committee was alerted to the problem.
Frist's campaign committee recently came under scrutiny because it has lost more than $500,000 in the stock market since the 2000 election.
