KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- Knox County sheriff's deputies arrested Thursday the woman they believe drove her car into the Heiskell post office.

No one was hurt Wednesday when witnesses say a black Camaro with two people inside slammed into the post office building and took off, leaving behind major damage and jolted nerves.

Thursday afternoon, deputies arrested Debra Moore, 42, of Heiskell in front of the Kwik Pantry Food Mart on Asheville Highway. They also impounded a black Camaro with noticeable front-end damage.

A second person was seen fleeing the convenience store when officers arrived, but it's not known if that was the other person seen in the Camaro when it crashed into the post office.

Moore was taken to the Knox County Detention Facility for booking. She was arrested on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and held on $2500 bond.

Tips led sheriff's deputies to Grainger, Jefferson, and Sevier counties before Moore was finally arrested in east Knoxville at around 1:45 p.m.

Investigators say they haven't yet determined why they think she crashed into the post office.

Authorities say Moore had spent the day going to businesses along Asheville Highway trying to get money for gas.
