KNOXVILLE (WATE/AP) -- The University of Tennessee has dismissed highly-recruited linebacker Daniel Brooks from the football team.

Also dismissed Monday night was forward Jemere Hendrix from the Volunteer basketball team.

Additionally, forward Andre Patterson was indefinitely suspended from the basketball team for conduct unbecoming a UT student-athlete.

Vol basketball coach Bruce Pearl issued a statement late Monday saying, "I am disappointed in Jemere and Andre. We set standards that we expect our student athletes to adhere to both on and off the court. We will not tolerate anything less."

Head football coach Phillip Fulmer had previously suspended Brooks for the first three games this year. This came after police responding to a wreck on campus discovered Brooks was driving with a suspended license.

Last November, in another incident, Brooks was caught driving on a suspended license and later pleaded guilty to the charge.

Fulmer said in a statement, "We have made every effort to help Daniel work through some issues...unfortunately we have decided it's in everyone's best interest to go our separate ways."
