Small fire at Alcoa aluminum plant

BLOUNT COUNTY (WATE) -- A fire broke out at Alcoa's Aluminum South Plant early Tuesday morning. Alcoa firefighters say molten aluminum spilled over catching other nearby materials on fire.

The fire broke out close to 4. a.m. inside buidling 81.  About 17 firefighters responded to the scene. Firefighters say the blaze was put out quickly with no injuries and minor damages.

During the fire the plant remained open and business resumed as normal.
