KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- Police are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run that killed a man late Monday night.
The collision happened just before midnight in the 2400 block of North Broadway.
Police say the victim, Edward Hayden Anderson, 50, was crossing the street at the time.
Anderson, who was homeless, was originally from California.
Police say the suspect's car is described as possibly a newer model Camaro, Pontiac Firebird or Ford Mustang. The car is black with chrome wheels. It probably has front end damage on the driver's side and a shattered windshield.
Knoxville police investigators are asking that anyone who may have seen the car or knows who was driving call the department's crime hotline at 215-7212.
