TOWAH (AP) -- Roofing manufacturer Johns Manville will eliminate 95 jobs at its plant in Etowah.
Company spokeswoman Melody Dunbar told The Daily Post Athenian from Johns Manville's headquarters in Denver that the cuts are likely to occur in April, but that the company will continue to monitor market conditions in making that decision.
The plant will likely cut 70 full-time and 15 temporary positions at the plant, which makes fiber mats used in roofing.
The announcement was the second concerning layoff in Etowah this week.
The Waupaca Foundry announced Tuesday it is cutting 70 jobs to help it survive the recession.
The job losses prompted McMinn County Mayor John Gentry to say he doesn't know when the nightmare ends.
