KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- Bridge repairs have closed some lanes on a section of Interstate 40 in West Knoxville.
Crews have reduced I-40 eastbound and westbound between I-275 and I-640 to two lanes 24/7.
This map shows the area where lanes are reduced:
Workers will repair bridges, plus do milling and resurfacing projects.
Since traffic in the area is already diverted to I-640, the state hopes fewer lanes will only make a slight difference for driver.
The project covers just under three miles. It's scheduled to be completed before I-40 re-opens through downtown in June.
