KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) - Catholic Charities of East Tennessee will be hosting the 33rd annual Emerald O'ccasion, a charity dinner celebrating and honoring community service.
The evening is headlined by the featured speaker Vallie Smith Collins, A University of Tennessee graduate and East TN resident who survived the 2009 US Airways flight that was forced to make an emergency landing on New York's Hudson River.
The evening will also include the presentation of the 7th annual “Creating Hope” award to a deserving individual or organization for their outstanding service to Catholic Charities of East Tennessee.
Proceeds from the event benefit all programs and services at Catholic Charities of East TN. The event will be held on Thursday, March 22 at The Knoxville Marriott.
