Hawkins County woman charged with distributing medication, synthetic marijuana

WJHL Staff - HAWKINS COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – Hawkins County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a woman Monday on charges of distributing medication and synthetic marijuana.

According to a HCSO news release, the sheriff's office had been conducting an ongoing investigation into individuals unlawfully distributing synthetic drugs and the investigation led them to the home of Jill Elaine Glatt, 38, 532 Oak Grove Road.

A search of Glatt's home revealed a small quantity of synthetic marijuana, scales, gram size baggies, around 90 Buprenorphine tablets and 130 Clonazepam tablets.

Deputies said Glatt was unable to show a valid prescription for a majority of the medication sold and evidence seized at the home indicated that Glatt had been distributing the drugs unlawfully.

According to the release, evidence also showed that Glatt could have been possibly importing the synthetic cannabinoids from China.

The total street value of the drugs seized was $4,200.

HCSO said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be placed later on.
